Brewster, NY – December 2007 – Dynacept Corporation, located in Brewster, NY, had been in business for over 34 years at the time of acquisition. It specialized in rapid prototyping, rapid-tooling and short-run molding for a variety of OE manufacturers across the country. MPC President Peter Thompson was quoted as saying, “The ability to offer rapid prototyping sets MPC apart from other plastic contract manufacturers and provides our customers service continuity from the design stage all the way through production.”
Midwest Plastic Components (MPC), which is based in Minneapolis, is a contract manufacturer providing plastic injection molding services. MPC is owned by Spell Capital Partners, a well-known private equity fund also based in Minneapolis. MPC has since changed its name to Spectrum Plastics Group.
MBS acted as broker and exclusive financial advisor to the owners of Dynacept Corporation in the company’s sale to Midwest Plastic Components. The transaction closed in December, 2007.
