November 2021 – Erie, PA – Rapid Mold Solutions (RMS) of Erie, PA has recently been acquired by Adler Industrial Solutions of Omaha, NE. This is their second acquisition in Pennsylvania after Shorts Tool & Mfg. was acquired earlier this year. RMS will provide Adler with broader capabilities, especially in rapid prototyping and short production runs.

RMS has been manufacturing close-tolerance and multi-cavity plastic injection molds and ancillary products since 1999. The company started as a prototype tooling house for automakers and grew to serve the electrical, medical device, and consumer products markets in addition to some metal products industries.

Adler founder and CEO Philipp Gruner stated that Rapid Mold founders Damian Kuzmin and Scott Borstorff will continue to run the acquired 15,000 sq. ft. operation. All current employees of RMS will stay on with additional staff added over time. Gruner also had this quote: “Having the sampling and short production run capabilities are in demand by our customers.”

“This will allow us to focus on what we do best and most enjoy, which I know will help unlock the company’s full potential,” Scott Borstorff, co-founder of RMS, said in the release.

Plastics-focused investment banking firm MBS Advisors of Florence, MA represented Adler Industrial Solutions in the transaction.
